Fernandinho believes Diego Costa is one of the hardest players he has ever played against.

Fernandinho has been in Manchester since 2013 when he was signed from Shakhtar Donetsk for 40 million Euros by Manuel Pellegrini. the 34-year-old Brazilian has won  the Premier League three times

In a Q&A session with former Manchester United player Kleberson, he revealed his toughest opponents.


The hardest players I've met are Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar and Kylian Mbappé. They are all really good and can cause big problems for the defenders, says Goal from Fernandinho.

- But one of the hardest players I've faced was Diego Costa when he played for Chelsea. He was in good shape. Hopefully I can meet them all again.




In Chelsea's last title-winning season in 2017, Costa scored in a bad-tempered 3-1 victory at the Etihad Stadium that saw Fernandinho sent off in injury time for shoving Cesc Fabregas over an advertising hoarding.

This is a serious issue for Chelsea, but the non-payment of transfer fees is going to be a football-wide problem, and they won’t be the only ones trying to put things straight. It looks likely FIFA will have to step in and do their best to ensure everything runs smoothly in the further transfer market.

“So me and Gaz now, first day of pre-season, we’ve gone round started smashing everyone in training. The tempo has gone up, everyone’s kicking lumps out of each other.

“After training, he came and put his arm round us both and said, ‘That’s why you’ll be starting this season.’ He just knew exactly what he was doing, he was four steps ahead of everyone else.”
